i love 600 not 750 or 1000 i like the high rev how the bike isnt bulky n one thousands lets face it we r faster in the twistys with good riders of coarse never rode a 750 so i cant knock it but i never had a proble, getting smoked by a 1000 is it me or is all that bike a waste of money n higher insurance oh a six is just as good for wheelies as any 1000 clutch it baby lol
I hear ya all, I have a 99 750 SRAd and am busting heads with it. I beat a guy at the drag strip by 7 lengths on his CBR 900 and I out weigh him by 60 pounds. Its all in the rider and the setup
Sorry fellas... I have to say the 1000 is the way to go if your a serious rider. The six is nimble and all, but you can't get away from a liter zuk. But the liter can leave the smaller bike any time, it's just a matter of horses...and the liter has more of them with just a few more pounds to carry. I see it every weekend. Besides if the sixes could, they would...you can step-up to the liter class with your six...but you don't see them doing it do you?...my two cents (only worth half that).
Hahahahahahhahahaa "...the 1000 is the way to go if you're a serious rider."
I'll grant you this, the same rider, with equal time on each bike, will lap any given racetrack faster on a 1000cc bike than on a 600cc bike.
We are talking about road course racetracks, right? Not run-whatcha-brung dragstrips? Like, with...turns and stuff? :D
However, for you, me, the guy who asked the question, and just about every other normal rider who can't exploit all the capabilities of any modern SS motorcycle, it doesn't much matter. The liter bike can only leave the smaller bike if the liter bike's rider has the abilities to do so. Would you rather be the guy on a 600 who is getting places quicker than your friends on 1000's, passing them through turns, showing more skill....or: Be the guy on the 1000 who lags behind through all the technical parts of the road, and then flies by when the road straightens out?
yeah,we use to ride with an older guy who had a 1990 hurricane 1000 with over 100,000 miles on it and he made us look like shit!!! i was amazed it how fast and how far he could lean that thing!!!!
I mean if this world had straight roads everywhere I'm sure everyone would rock a 1000, lol. 600 FTW! Although I kind of want to make my 600 a track bike, and get a 1000 for the road to play with.

Yeah....I'm one of those old farts that likes to ride hard and have fun on the streets.....when I ride single/one-up the tires always come home well scuffed....some of these young bucks think their haulin-azz......and I'll go past them at a good clip and my girl on back just waves.....it's funny.....some people forget what and where experience comes from and what it can do......been riding sence 67.......that's 1967.
