hey man this is my opinion i have a 600 and a 1200 and the ride is totally different when i am in my 600 it fells like i am on a bicycle when i compare the ride in my suzuki 1200 , the power is like night and day difference but i still like my 600 for doing some crazy things around the city but when i want to go to the highway and long trips , i love my 1200 especially here in Maine that is not traffic at all and the roads are endless ,,, hey have a great ride bro ,,,JULIO

well I can only say this, when I was buying my bike, I was looking at a 600 first and all my friends told me that I would out grow the 600 very quickly and the 750 was my best bet for an all around bike. And I must say they were right, the insurance is cheaper, and my bike if you look at the tag says GTSOME, which is what a guy on a CBR 929 told me and when I busted his rump by 6 bike lengths he sold his bike a week later. Its all in the setup of the bike and what is most comfortable to you. So I say feel them out and go for what is the best fit for you. You can make anything you want out of it with the right mechanic and a little money

600 for the track and twisties, and 1000 for messing around on the street or just street riding.

I second Danny point "Its all in the setup of the bike and what is most comfortable to you. So I say feel them out and go for what is the best fit for you. You can make anything you want out of it with the right mechanic and a little money."

It does come down to the individual. I feel great on my GSX-R 1000 and really feel it is the best bike I have ever owned.

Ergo's from a 600 to a 1000 are not all that different(especially Squid-zuki Gixxas). If you can show me a rider who has honestly "outgrown" a modern 600cc Supersport motorcycle, I'll ask why he isn't racing professionally. For 2 up riding, or a whole lot of slab time, a bigger cc bike may make sense, but in all reality, if anyone thinks a 1000cc motorcycle is gonna make them "faster" they are just setting themselves up for disappointment when they realize they can't keep up with a skilled rider on a 600.

I started out on a little 78 Honda 750. It handled geat for around town. It was plenty fast but it wasn't up for too much on the highway with my wife on the back. I jumped up to my 1100 and it was great for the highway on a long ride. I do notice that for the daily commute, it feels heavy in slow traffic. The wife says I need to get a 600 for the daily ride and keep the 1100 for the highway. She is really happy since hers it a 900. I was looking at a 900 but I do admit, I love the throtle on the open Texas highway. If you are comfortable on what you got, you shouldn't let someone else going faster make you decide you need a bigger bike. There is always SOMEONE faster.

It is all about what you feel comfy on. You'd be amazed at what you can get out of a bike. Take for example a Honda CBR600rr. Add a K&N and Exhaust and Wam! you have a totally new bike. You'd be amazed at what a difference something simple like an exhaust kit and K&N will make in a bike.

Also, your skill and ability has a lot to do with what sort of bike you'll be on. Really, who cares if you are smoked by some guy on a 'Busa. You are the one that has to ride everyday. You are the one that has to pay for insurance and make your bike payment. Not the guy that just smoked you on the "Busa. Or, your friends giving you hell over a 600.

1000,s weigh in about the same as 600's do now, i think 600's are easier to ride fast because they are more predictable on the power, i've had 600,750 and 1000 ,i would like to get a 600 for some track days.
